GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Chase's website has been down for over a week. They sent a letter saying "We're incapable of summoning the resources to do a clean transition, so we're going to make you suffer while we migrate accounts from one online system to the other BY HAND." or some such - I'm not sure it said "We suck." but that's what I get out of it.

Ok, so they say "Our system is unavailable this week." That was last week. The assumption then is that it will be available when the new week starts. Monday. no. Tuesday. no. See where this is going?

It. Gets. Better.

I get a call this morning saying that my credit card is delinquent and if I pay RightNow, they'll forgive the late charges and all I have to pay is a phone transaction fee. I blink and go through the motions of paying the bill. Weirder things have happened and with the online system fucked up, sure, something could have gone awry on my end. I pay things THROUGH THE WEBSITE because it's easier. and more convenient.

....
...
..
WAIT! Wait one darned minute! That account autopays itself from my checking account. Bill gets cut, system waits until due date, amount withdraws and applies itself to my credit card! That account CAN'T be delinquent!

Ya know... I hate companies that can't handle systems conversions without a meltdown. They should pay me to get it right.

Ick!

My bank just transitioned from Fleet to Bank of America. My accounts went fine, it seems, but one of my coworkers is now missing a rather huge chunk of money. We're talking close to a grand.

Fleet

... Probably ate it as a Processing Fee.

They ate a small savings account I had a long time ago with fees.

Not a thousand worth of processing fees. It seems a bit excessive. It just up and disappeared after the transition.

That was sarcasm.

As long as he has documents showing balances and such, he should get it back.

You should definitely be able to get them to pay that Phone Processing Fee, and any other fees resulting from that annoyance.

Sometimes all you can do is beat your head against the floor. But it's better if you can get ahold of THEM and beat their heads against the floor. ;)

Credit cards suck. I got a new one in the mail the other day "AT NO CHARGE!!!" Oooh, yay, they didn't charge me when they had to send me a new card because they had a security breach. Like not charging me was doing me some monumental favor.

Course I guess they did do me a favor, because if they had tried to charge me for said card, I might be in jail now.

Oh and the real reason I stopped by was on orders from the all powerful kat - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
